Snowball

Breed: Mix, Maltese

Age: 3 yrs old

Gender: Male

Size: Small

Color: White

Spayed/Neutered: Yes

Adoption Price: $225

Little Snowball arrived at the shelter as a stray, extremely underweight, so very hungry and with a coat that was terribly matted as can be seen in his last photo. Please read his entire bio before reaching out to the shelter. Snowball was so underweight that shelter staff had to carefully feed him through his first couple weeks to make sure that he was able to safely process food after almost starvation. But this tiny 10 lb. boy has proved to have quite a determined, sassy attitude! Snowball wants to get to know people at his own pace. He is looking for an adult only home with no kids, dogs or cats. If children are going to be visitors, his new adopters should be prepared to have a spot for him to be safely kept away. This guy has lost some trust in people, but is trying awfully hard to make connections. Snowball is clear about his need for space, and will give a warning growl to people who push him too fast. Once he is comfortable, he will crawl up and cuddle. Snowball got to hang out in a great foster home as he was gaining weight, so we got to learn more about him. He is very determined to have all the people attention for himself, and does not care to share it with other pets. Snowball would like a quiet home, with adult adopters only who are willing to go very slow on getting to know him. If you need a dog to pick up and snuggle right away, he is not the pup for you. Snowball has been through tough times and may do best with local adopters who are able to come to the shelter multiple times in order to gain his confidence. Although his coat was trimmed down, he will require regular professional grooming to keep him comfortable, and his new adopters' should be prepared for that cost. If you are viewing Snowball's profile and would like to meet him, please fill out the Dog Adoption Inquiry Form listed below to request a meet with him. All adoptions are by appointment, thank you!
