The Animals Need You. You can help.

Worcester Animal Rescue League is a private, non-profit organization, and receives no government funding. The costs to care for animals, provide medical attention and medicine, feed, and prepare for adoption far outweighs what we take in for fees. We rely on your generosity. The animals depend on the heartfelt outpouring of people like you who have decided that they want to live in a community where every living being matters.

TO GIVE MONTHLY –

 Join Josie’s Monthly Giving Program

“If I’m not perfect, and Josie’s not perfect, how come we make a perfect pair?” -Arthur

Josie

Arthur met his best friend, Josie, at WARL on November 19, 2010, inspiring him to give a reoccurring monthly gift. And as animal lovers like Arthur know, the costs of caring for our beloved friends are ongoing: food, medicine, heat to keep them warm. Monthly donors ensure that the animals will be cared for – month after month. Through your support, you help provide what’s needed to match the next perfect pair.

“The other day I was introduced as Josie’s master. I thought about it for a while, and I don’t think that’s accurate. We’re not dog and master. We’re a team, partners. When someone sees us on one of the many trails we walk, what they really see is just two friends taking a walk.”

Kennel Sponsorship Program
Walk through our facility and immediately your attention turns to the kennels that house those we serve. By becoming a Kennel Sponsor, you can provide the animals with the basic necessities as they await their new family. Over the course of the year, your gift* will directly impact many cats or dogs as they make your kennel their temporary home. Click here for more information or to apply. * Sponsorships are tax-deductible.
Make a Bequest to the Animals

Making a bequest to WARL is a beautiful way to express what has really mattered in your life and to have a lasting impact on the animals of our community. Bequests can be made by a simple statement in your will, or by naming WARL as a beneficiary of IRAs or life insurance policies. Please give us a call. We would be happy to explore this option with you.

Paws for Recycling

This is one of the easiest ways to help the shelter. WARL collects empty ink jet and laser print cartridges along with cell phones and empty beverage cans that we turn in for cash. This is an excellent way for schools, organizations and businesses to help WARL.

Here are some of our regular needs:

Pet Supplies: Dog and cat food (both canned and dry). Purina brand preferred. Please no grain-free; Non-clumping kitty litter; Bedding, comforters, blankets and towels (not pillows & sheets); Kuranda Beds; martingale collars.

Pet Toys – For cats: furry mice and balls with bells, stuffed animals for orphaned kittens to snuggle against; For dogs: Kongs, Ruff Wear, Jolly Balls, Tuffies, tennis balls.

Office Supplies: Copy paper (white and colors), postage stamps, pink and blue post-its, etc. Staples gift cards are always welcomed!

Computers, Laptops, Printers: Newer models or gently used models are welcomed.

Medical Supplies: Latex gloves, gauze, anti-bacterial hand sanitizer, popsicle sticks, Dixie cups, One Touch Test Strips.

Commercial Washers: Each day we wash and dry close to 45 loads of blankets, towels, bed and toys. Sometimes there isn’t enough hours in the day for us to wash all the dirty laundry, or Heaven forbid a machine breaks. A commercial washer will ease that stress, speed up the process, and relieve the staff and volunteers of washing small loads multiple times each day so they can instead use their valuable time and talents with the animals.

Paving: A dirt parking lot behind the building often becomes an unwanted pond or skating rink due to poor drainage and dirt consistency, but paving it could cost the shelter thousands of dollars that we’d rather use towards the mounting medical bills. Can you help?

Digital Camera: for photographing the pets. Newer models or gently used models are welcomed.

Cleaning Supplies: Paper towels, 33-gallon trash bags, sponges, bleach, dish soap, “HE” (high efficiency) laundry detergent, Lemon Joy soap.[/expand]
